The unintended expat blogger behind ExpatFamily Hub

Hey, I'm Anna

Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Berlin, Germany.

A few years back, I moved here with my family. What started as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.

How It Started

Moving to Germany wasn't part of our long-range plan. Like many expat transitions, it began as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something far bigger.

The early months were demanding — adjusting to new systems, new routines, and new expectations. Daily tasks felt more complicated than they should.

The Adjustment Period

There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We discovered places that worked for us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt stable.

Why I Built ExpatFamily Hub

Most information online was either corporate-level relocation guidance or surface-level tourism content. What was missing was honest, day-to-day family perspective.

This site aims to close that gap — practical guidance based on real life in Germany.

What This Site Is (And Isn't)

This site IS:

  • Practical insights gained from living in Germany
  • Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
  • Updated whenever something truly changes

This site ISN'T:

  • Not a tourism authority resource
  • Not a sponsored review site
  • Not a generic travel blog

Looking Ahead

Our stay in Germany goes on, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue recording what we uncover.

If you have questions about family life in Berlin or anywhere in Germany, please reach out.

Best regards,

Anna
